It’s that easy!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • ALEX is a tool that can help you compare plan options and explain any terms or concepts you don’t understand.
  • ALEX is available online, so you can use the tool with your spouse and family members from any computer at any time.
  • Using ALEX is easy! ALEX will ask you a few straightforward questions about your health care needs in order to form a custom recommendation that’s right for you.
  • For an expert on health insurance with suggestions on how to keep your out-of-pocket medical expenses as low as possible, ALEX is entertaining. The experience is designed to be light, helpful and available 24/7.
  • Whatever you share with ALEX remains completely private. ALEX does not create, receive, maintain, transmit, collect, or store any identifiable end-user information.

One of the most important benefit decisions you’ll make is the right Medical Plan for your needs: the Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP), the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), the Basic Plan or the Core Plan. If you live in California, you may be able to enroll in the Kaiser Plan.

If you enroll in the CDHP or Core Plan, you have the option of enrolling in a Health Savings Account (HSA). Your election will be sent to HSA Bank, which establishes your HSA bank account.

If you plan to elect the HMO or the Basic Plan, consider enrolling in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to maximize your tax savings. You can also enroll in the Health Care FSA if you waive medical coverage.

Regardless of the Medical Plan you choose, you may enroll in the Dependent Day Care FSA to receive tax-free reimbursement for expenses related to the care of your dependents while you work.

EMCOR offers you Group Life and Disability Insurance as part of your benefits program. You may be able to purchase additional coverage during open enrollment.

The elections you make will be in effect for one year, January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017. Unless you have a qualifying life change that allows you to change your benefits, you will not have the opportunity to enroll again until the 2018 Open Enrollment period. All qualified status changes must be approved and made within 30 days of the event, and are effective on the date of the event.
